Helsinki World Design Capital
Client: Helsinki City – Uusix Verstaat
This project was part of Helsinki’s 200 year celebration and the World Design Capital 2012.
For Uusix a social project of Helsinki city, I designed illustrations inspired by remarkable items and buildings of the city. The illustrations had to be suitable for textile prints, and have been applied to Uusix’s product line for the Helsinki 200 year celebration and World Design Capital 2012. At Uusix recycled textiles were handprinted with silk screens and turned into colorful, accessories and kitchen utensils which are sold in museums, and selected stores across the city.
